Carreira
A Dra. Cook estudou por muitos anos a patogênese e epidemiologia de doenças virais aviárias, especialmente bronquite infecciosa aviária (VBI), adenovírus aviário (inclusive EDS-76) e pneumovírus aviário (PVA). Além disso, ela esteve envolvida na pesquisa e desenvolvimento de vacinas aviárias até sua aposentadoria, em 2000. Desde que se aposentou, ela continua atuante no campo da doença aviária na qualidade de consultora para diferentes organizações, fazendo palestras e escrevendo capítulos de livros e artigos de revisão. Entre outras atividades, ela também é editora da revista Avian Pathology.
